The Juniors Need Your Help

Dear Members,

Due to the large numbers of juniors that now attend on Monday nights during the summer for coaching, we now have limited facilities to fit them all in. This year we regularly had 45 to 50 youngsters wanting to play cricket.

What would be of most use would be to have the nets behind the score box back in action. But, due to the very poor surface, it is not used as it is considered to be dangerous because of the unpredictable bounce caused by various bits of rubble coming to the surface.

We are raising funds to lay two synthetic cricket strips for use by the juniors. The hope is that this will be in place before the start of next season. Kirklees Council are willing to help if the members, parents, grandparents and friends show enough interest in providing this. If enough people show interest Kirklees will cover the remaining costs. The total cost will be over £5000.

A small pledge to the crowdfunding page at https://www.spacehive.com/junior-cricket-training-ground will demonstrate that interest. This money will not be taken unless the funding is a success.

A small pledge of £2, to £10 will be adequate to show that East Bierley Cricket Club’s aim is supported by the club and the village. The total number of pledges is what Kirklees are looking for. So mum, dad and four grandparents would make a total of 6 pledges for example.

To make your pledge please go to https://www.spacehive.com/junior-cricket-training-ground click on Back this project! And follow the instructions from there.

Your pledge can be made via your Bankers Card or through PayPal.

Please pass this on to anyone else who may be able to help make this project a success.

With many thanks in anticipation
