Captain Sam Wilby has been busy in the off season as he welcomes four new signings into the his squad for 2025.
Incomings
Nick Rushworth and his son Alexander have returned to the club from nearby Woodlands. Nick an attacking top order batsman and wicketkeeper will bring some fire power to the top order, alongside his handy glovework.
Alexander, who will be playing in the u15s but also looking to make inroads into the 2nd XI throughout the season to aid his development as a promising young cricketer.
Umar Zubair and Fahad Khan join from Bowling Old Lane. Umar has been BOLs captain for many years and brings plenty of experience and versatility to the team. Umar can bat anywhere from 1-8 and bowl some handy left arm off spin. Fahad, an opening bowler who is a regular wicket taker will partner Reece with the new ball.
The 2025 season will also see Adam Brown step into the 2nd team and Arron Brook make a permanent return after playing the second half of the 2024 season.
Outgoings
Wayne Robinson steps into retirement (yet don’t be surprised to see him in his whites from time to time). We also wish Seb Carter all the best as he leaves to join Morley.
Good luck to Sam and the team for the season ahead!
